With the holidays lurking among us, plus my birthday, it made me start thinking about all of the entertaining we will be doing over the next couple of months. When entertaining, my ultimate go-to is a well crafted charcuterie board. Pause. Okay, before we go any further, who else loves saying charcuterie. It makes me giggle every time. #Iamcheesy (pun intended)! Un-pause. This pretty much encompasses all of my favorite things on one board. Cheese, meat, fruit, nuts and some type of delicious jelly or spread.
For this particular charcuterie board (cue giggle) I used 4 of my favorite cheeses. A goat cheese, blue cheese, cheddar and a parmesan like cheese called BellaVitano Gold by Sartori. I put this on everything! For the meat, I included the ever popular prosciutto, and a wine infused salami. They pair perfectly with my cheese selection. I added marcona almonds, a nut blend, tomatoes, grapes, berries, figs, and crackers. The highlight of it all was a pepper jelly made by Jennifer’s Kitchen. Tangy, spicy, sweet and all around delicious; full of apple and jalapenõ flavor. Add it to a cracker with meat and cheese; it seriously is like a party in your mouth. It really was the perfect compliment to my charcuterie board (giggle).
Of course, this would not be complete without the perfect pairing of wine. Whether you enjoy red or white, anything goes.
What is your favorite go-to for entertaining? Oh, and your favorite wine pairing? #priorities
The thing I love most about a charcuterie board (is giggling getting old), is that you can really make it your own with all of your favorite things. You may include olives one day, and figs another…it’s really easy and always a creative culinary delight. Plus, you can most likely throw it together with things you already have. And doesn’t it just look gorgeous?
