long weekend ahead

What do you have planned? Our weekend is quite eventful! Friday night, we have dinner plans with our friend Kristen, and her parents. They are flying in from Florida to celebrate her 30th birthday on Saturday night. And guess where we are having the party….Coy Casa!!!

I love throwing parties! As you can see from the blog, I need creativity in my life or I will simply go nuts. It’s really fun to organize, decorate, and come up with new ides. I can’t really talk about it too much, because I don’t want Miss Birthday Girl to know any details. SHHHHHH! I will be sure to take lots of pics and share with you all next week.

Sunday and Monday I plan to do pretty much nothing. Maybe some fun photo-shoots with the hubs, go to the dog beach, see a movie, shop the Nordstrom sale. Oh no, you see what I am doing, I am planning out my weekend. LOL! Total control freak I mean type “A” personality. This always happens. I have a free weekend and I somehow manage to over schedule myself. The struggle is real.

Speaking of struggle, I had a plan to run every other day. Epic fail! This weekend I will probably go everyday to make up for it. It just hasn’t been nice weather this week in Chicago. That’s no excuse though, I have a gym a block away (SIGH). I do however prefer the fresh air of running outside. When the weather is nice, we typically run in Lincoln Park near Belmont Harbor pictured below. I love running near the lake or by the boats. It reminds me of Florida and being on the water.

A couple weeks ago, Trent and I walked over there and shot some cute pictures of this preppy, nautical outfit. It has some perfect pieces for summer. The sweater is so Cape Cod to me…it makes me want to have a lobster feast. MMM…now I’m getting hungry. You guys know how much I LOVE seafood.

I added a blouse underneath for some texture, and because it was chilly; then paired it with white jeans and my Sperry’s. Super comfy and summer ready!

Let me know what y’all are up to this weekend. I hope we all have nice weather and can truly take a break. xoxo
