Thankful Thoughts with Dakota

With Thanksgiving officially right around the corner, I can’t help but think of turkey, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie (pumpkin everything really), family, football, black Friday and other fall traditions that I couldn’t live without. I think my favorite tradition though, and one I cherish every Thanksgiving, is when we go around the table and say what we are most thankful for. I have so much to be thankful for, truly.

One of the greatest blessings in my life is…can anyone guess? Dakota! That mutt made me a mama (a fur mama anyways), and for that, I am so grateful.

Adopting her 7 years ago was the best thing I ever did, besides marrying Trent. The love I have for this dog is unlike anything. It’s unconditional and so pure.

Dakota has literally seen me through it all these last 7 years; from new relationships to break ups, to traveling, moving, and marrying. She really is woman’s best friend.

When Trent travels I have a watch dog, and a trusty companion. She literally follows me everywhere I go in the house. Sometimes I just need to walk to another room to grab something and, even in her sleepy state, she gets up and follows. I feel bad for her. I always tell her “I’ll be right back, stay put”, but she obviously doesn’t understand what I am saying. LOL! I am thankful for daily walks with her. Even if it’s 10 minutes, just being outside and feeling her joy, is everything to me. She loves a brisk day and has an extra spunky walk with booty shake included.

The other day we were at the park and she found the biggest stick ever. It was literally a branch. She tried carrying it while half dragging on the ground. It was cracking me up, yet she was so proud of herself. She loves this fall (more like winter) weather.

So, with Dakota being such a special part of my (and our) life, I wanted to treat her to her own Thanksgiving feast. I found these Vita Bone® Artisan Inspired® Turkey Stuffing & Cranberry flavor biscuits at Walmart.com (you can get them at major grocery stores and Walmart). Dakota has “gobbled” them up.

I will say, I am a bit cautious, and I try to only give her the best. I gotta tell you, for a treat, these are pretty up there. They are made with real meat, fruit and veggies, and they DO NOT include Corn, soy, by-products or artificial flavors. Oh, and they are sourced and made right here in the U.S. of A.

If you are a dog mama (or daddy) look no further than these yummy in dogs tummy, Vita Bone biscuits.

Dakota loved them so much that she asked if I’d do a Gobble Gobble Up Vita Bone Giveaway. How can I say no to that little face???

Aww sweet Dakota! Bryley is also thankful for her. And I, of course, am thankful for Bryley. She has emotions like a human and is always waiting at the door, shaking her booty when we get home! Nothing better than coming home to a loyal pup.

I miss Bry…and so does Dakota!!! We have the best pups!
