Quick Update: IVF Pre-Embryo Transfer
With all of the madness leading up to the transfer, plus questions from you guys, I figured I’d give a quick update.
Prednisone and Plaquenil have helped lower my out of control immune response. This is great news!
From the doc: Natural Killer cell activity is still increased but improved to 24 (was 30). The target range less than 15. NK count is now normal at 6 (was 16). The target range is less than 12. Cytokines TNF is improved to 41 (was 48). The target range less than 30. Lastly the IFN is down to 22 (was 32). The target range is less than 20. Please increase prednisone to 15mg daily to further suppress these immune levels.
Last week: TSH for my thyroid went up to 3.8. This should be below 2.0. They upped my synthroid dosage, and I found out this is very normal when more estrogen is present. This is troubling considering we never made modifications of this med in the past. I am so grateful for Margaret and Dr. KK.
Update on 8/11: TSH back down to 1:11 which is a good range. It does baffle me though watching the crazy fluctuations and now knowing that alone can cause miscarriage. It is so important that I am monitored on a weekly basis.
My hormones and lining all look optimal for transfer. I will not need to go back to the reproductive endocrinologist prior to our August 21 transfer.
Today we had more blood work and ultrasound at the immunologist. My lining, ovaries, and uterus all looked good with nice blood flow. Still waiting on all of my labs to come back. Praying my NK cells are still going down.
We are adding a blood thinner to the mix and all of the meds (I have only been on a handful) start tomorrow. I have 11 medications and about 8 vitamins total. Woooo weeeee! I am getting a checklist ready so I can keep everything straight.
That’s the quick update for now…stay tuned. Also, join us for an Instagram Live on August 20 at 8pm CST. This is the night before our transfer. I will be a ball of nerves.
Please know that all of your support is everything to Trent and me. If you aren’t caught up with our journey, you can read more here.
